At first, Briana thought Maxim had OCD. However, one day she saw him calmly eating the chicken wings that Norma had served him, while he didn’t touch the dish she had prepared for him until the end of the meal. It was then that she realized he didn’t have OCD, he simply disliked her as a person.
Maxim finished his meal, and it had already been over ten minutes.
Briana had already grown impatient, “Can you let go of me now?!”
This time, Maxim didn’t give her a hard time and simply let go of her hand.
She got up and walked out of the office directly, still feeling very annoyed in her heart. She had to find a way to completely draw a line with Maxim.
Tyrone saw her and quickly walked up to her.
“Ms. Schneider, did Maxim not trouble you?”
Seeing the undisguised concern in his eyes, Briana’s heart warmed, and she shook her head, saying, “No, I have inconvenienced Mr. Qi today. I will treat Mr. Qi to a meal another day.”
Upon hearing this, Tyrone smiled and said, “Well, I’ll remember that, you can’t cheat!”
“Don’t worry, I couldn’t do it.”
Among Maxim’s several brothers, Tyrone was the most polite to
himself. Although Oliver and Brycen didn’t say it, Briana could tell
that they looked down on her and believed that she was the one who broke up Maxim and Kiley.
Tyrone still wanted to say something, but Maxim’s cold voice resounded beside them.
“Tyrone, weren’t you here to discuss business with me? No time for idle chit–chat?!”
As Maxim appeared, the temperature around started to drop rapidly.
Briana didn’t even look at him and smiled at Tyrone, saying, “Mr. Qi, I won’t delay you any longer. Goodbye.”
Maxim’s cold gaze was fixed on Briana’s figure, noticing that she didn’t even give him a glance, a hint of anger flashed in his eyes.
Maxim didn’t look away at Tyrone until Briana got on the elevator.
“When did you become so close with Briana?”
Tyrone remained expressionless, “Before you got injured, a few of us used to visit you regularly. We met quite often, and occasionally we would have a chat.”
“Stay away from her!”
Hearing the warning tone in Maxim’s voice, Tyrone furrowed his brow “Maxim, haven’t you already divorced? Can’t I have a normal
interaction with Ms. Schneider?”
“We did not divorce, and we will not divorce!”
“But didn’t Ms. Schneider say before that you had already obtained your divorce certificate?”
Maxim’s gaze turned cold, devoid of any warmth in his eyes.
“Tyrone, this was between Briana and me, you didn’t need to meddle!”
After a moment of silence, Tyrone spoke up, “Alright, let’s talk about the land in the east of the city.”
The two of them walked into Maxim’s office.
On her way back to MY Corporation, Briana pondered for a long time. and decided that she needed to find a new boyfriend in order to stop Maxim from bothering her.
She was a woman of action, and as soon as she returned to the office. she called Melody over.
“Melody, do you have any high–quality men around you? Can you introduce me to a few?”
Melody stared wide–eyed in shock and touched Briana’s forehead, saying, “Are you not running a fever? Why are you suddenly asking me to introduce you to a man?!”
Briana pushed her hand away and spoke seriously, “I wasn’t joking with you.”
“I wasn’t joking with you either. After you divorced Maxim, isn’t it normal to work hard and reach the pinnacle of life, proving Maxim and Kiley wrong?”
Briana looked at her speechlessly, “I did have plans to work hard, but I didn’t want to have any more interactions with them or embarrass them.”
“Did you suddenly want to find a man because you were feeling lonely?”
“No, I want to find a man to pretend to be my boyfriend because Maxim has been acting strange lately.”
Melody’s eyes sparkled with curiosity as she raised an eyebrow and asked, “Did he bother you?”
Before, she had always felt that Maxim looked at Briana in a way that definitely didn’t seem like he had no feelings for her.
“Come on, do you have any men to introduce to me over there?!”
“There is, indeed, but before introducing you to the man, we should first address another matter.”
Briana’s eyes flickered with confusion, “What?”
