Ashton’s POV.
I have been awake since the middle of the night, just going over some emails and paperwork. It never seemed to reduce but I preferred working on it than lying on my bed with thoughts about Josie penetrating my mind. And my hard–on raging.
Ókay, admittedly I went beyond borders yesterday after she refused my offer.
I shouldn’t have done what I did but I couldn’t care because I wanted her to come running to me.
So, when she insisted she wouldn’t work for me I drove to the loan shark guy that helped Josie with half of the money she owned.
I paid him to connive with me and send the messages he sent to Josie.
That was a low for me but wanted her by my side because I was already losing it.
There’s an upcoming pup tournament and color festival for kids and it was also taking much of my time. However, instead of handling the preparation of the show as the alpha, I gave it to my beta, Tyler, to handle it.
That’s because I wanted to focus on getting Josie back. I swear, I don’t even know the actual day the tournament would take place but that’s required of me as an alpha. Still, I was falling behind greatly.
I paused scrolling through the computer, reclining against my seat, a sigh seeping out from me.
Dammit, I should get a sleep.
With a sigh, I got up and went to my room to sleep.
About three hours later, I was up again to get ready for work.
On my way out of the bathroom, I heard my ringtone going off and I hurried to pick up the call.
“Hi, doc. Your attention is needed at the hospital right now. The paramedics called to report an accident that had just occurred.” The head nurse hummed, frantically.
I gushed a response and hung up the call. I quickly wore a striped orange, white, and navy blue shirt, rocking it with black pants before I got other necessary things and walked out of the room.
Waltzing down the hallway, I stopped by Dane’s room. Though he didn’t live permanently in the pack house, however him as well as all other ranking officials in the pack had a room here in the pack house.
Holding the door handle, I swung it up and marched inside. Looking up, my eyes took in the scene before me.

I was on my way out of the trauma room when a nurse came inside bearing news.
“There’s someone here to meet with you, doc.”
“Great, I’d be right there…” I answered and she nodded.
Grabbing my stethoscope and hung it on my neck as I waltzed away from the room before the cleaners went in.
I took down the hallway that led to my office.
Inching closer to the door, my breath snapped out of me as my eyes clashed with hers.
“Ms. Rose?” I called, managing to hide the smile on my lips and the victorious dance of against the wall of my chest.
I wasn’t expecting to see it so soon but I’m glad my plans worked.

I fluttered my office door open and gestured for her to step in.
As I took a step inside and fluttered the door shot, I knew this was it….

Josie’s POV.
I never thought I’d be here asking him for an opportunity to talk after lashing out at him yesterday. But I had no options my debts needed to be paid and leaving it would mean bringing the loan sharks‘ attention to me.
I can’t afford that. Those lycanwolves were known to be notorious and they followed the torture way when demanding their money back.
I had owed this money for years now, promising nonstop that I’d pay but look at me, I’m yet to fulfil my words and now my name had opened in their book of remembrance.
Thanks to my girls, they came in handy this morning when I called them. I didn’t know what clothes to wear and appear pristine in front of my cockily ex–mate so Tessa and Jane came through for me.
Jane brought her classic gowns of different colors to my house this morning after Ms. Beth had taken Aria to school.

Well, even now, his titanium gray eyes hadn’t stopped taking in me. I wonder what must be running through that mind of his.
Taking the seat with a sway of my hips, I cleared my throat.
“I’m here to discuss the tutoring work with you.” I hummed.
Ashton reared back on his swiveling chair as his gaze pinned on me.

He ran his fingers over his scruff, nodding as if he knew what I wanted to say.

Ashton halted swiveling the seat and drew it close to the desk. Perching his hands on it, he said gravelly.
“Hours of teaching I’ll be decided by me, Ms. Rose because I’m the one paying.”
I gritted my teeth at his words.
“The location also, I can’t
grant you full authority to decide. I’d get to decide them.”
My fists curl at his words again.
“The days….hmmm.” He tipped his chin in thought and uttered, “You can have full autonomy on that, Ms. Rose.”
I managed a nod.
“Deal then?” I uttered but he only shook his head and then said the words that left my mouth open.
“You’d be working for me as my teacher and translator for ninety days. And you’ll come with me on every trip I make anywhere.”
I shot to my feet at his words and asked with wide eyes. “Why? Ninety days with you? That’s
impossible!” I barked, smashing my fist over the mahogany desk.

Ashton smirked evilly as he locked his eyes on me. Shrugging, he hummed. “I’m sorry but that’s the only way this could work.”
He was doing this on purpose. Staying with him for ninety days would be complete torture. Normally, I only handle clients for three weeks or four but ninety days?
I don’t think i could survive this given the way Ashton was looking at me with lustful eyes.
