Josie’s POV:
I spent Sunday night at Tessa’s place and it was great. Aria loved having me around.
I watched my little angel running around the house, making noises while playing with Jeff and his sister
Then I and Tessa while away time chattering as we sat on the balcony. That was when Tessa came forward with the gutt her secret affairs with her neighbor.
“Goddess, Tessa! How could you?” I snapped at her, laughing in between.
I know Tessa quite well. She’s a goal–getter. She had admitted that the first time she set her gaze on the man, ale Junew ale was going to be in his bed.
And it happened.
Tessa narrated how their first encounter was, awkward but the good kind of awkward.
According to her, she was returning from taking the twins to school and when she passed by his door, she found it open.
In curiosity, she ventured into the apartment, not knowing the man was around. Actually, she thought there was beca leading her to go into the house and find out if there truly was a break–in.
Tessa said she didn’t see anything unusual in the living room so she went to the bedroom but on getting there she heart the water rushing from the bedroom.
Her fear bloomed as she thought someone might have been water–boarded to death.
“Believe me that was what I thought. I guess watching these thriller movies makes someone’s imagination run wild
We barked a laugh, tears sprung from my eyes.
“So when that thought occurred to me, I rushed quickly into the bathroom, and there was the hot ass man, in the shower. When he heard my creaking footsteps he had turned and the both of us screamed at once.”
I couldn’t stop laughing at that crazy encounter. “That’s embarrassing” I had told her.
“It was then. But not when we started going at it like crazy people.” She teased me. “So when I looked down at his home suggested, hey why help you solve that problem?”

“You said that?” I asked in shock, wondering when on earth I’d get such courage.
“To ask Ashton too? My wolf taunted me but I blocked her off quickly.
“I did. Turns out the man already has eyes on me. We embarked on the race of my mouth on his dick and his tongue cunt. It was fun.” She cackled.
After spending time chatting with Tessa, I eventually went to Aria and the twins. I read them stories.
Surprisingly, Aria didn’t sleep a wink until I finished reading the story of a Dragon king and a frail princess. Then the asked me a barrage of questions.
When they all dozed off, I curled up around my daughter and slept beside her like I promised.
Waking up this morning. I remember I have to report to my boss today. Mr. Thompson is surely going to rip my bars all 11 1 fail to submit a sound report
That makes me remember Ashton. I wonder if he had written the tests and reviews.
Shoving my thoughts aside. I help Tessa get the kids‘ lunch ready.
Thankfully, Diego swings by to see us.
Seeing him. my heart jerks. He looks perfect this morning.
But not perfect as our mate‘ My wolf chirps, though I feel her acknowledging Diego’s looks.
“Hey, D 1 wave at him while stuffing the vegetables into Aria’s lunchbox.
The man walks over to my side and leans in for a kiss. 1 manage to press a chaste kiss on his lips.
“You look good” He praises me and I find myself blushing
“Thanks, D.“I say and we end up staring at each other,
At that moment, I feel a strange pull towards Diego. But what confuses me is why what I feel for Ashton is more powerful.
I enjoy Diego’s lips on mine but it’s not as satisfying as that of Ashton. My mind replays the scene of Ashton and I sucking off our lips on my couch.
The thought of it fills me with arousal.
It’s really crazy
“Ahem!” Someone coughs behind us and Diego jerks back, making Tessa come into view.
“I hope I’m not interrupting some lover’s moment?” She asks, waltzing into the kitchen.
The sound of the word lover in my ear is different. I feel no bubbles thinking about it.
“Not at all” Diego presses on. “I should check on the kids.” He pointed behind him before taking off.
I sigh, thankful the tension between us has faded with his retreat to the children’s room.
“That young man really loves you a lot.” Tessa’s voice cuts through my thoughts.
“I know right?” I mutter with a shaky smile.
“Tell me again how you guys met.”
I told her how Diego saved me from having an accident but I didn’t tell her I was running from my pack.
“I feel this kinda tension whenever I’m with him.” I blurt the words unknowingly.
Tessa drops the spatula she’s holding and comes over to my side.
“What kind of tension?” She raises her brows at me.
“I can’t tell. It’s strange but it’s there.”
I wanted to tell her the tension, the tug of my heart whenever I’m near Diego is always different from Ashton but I quickly bite back my words.
I just don’t understand that.
“It’s because you love Diego, Rosé. And he probably loves you too.”
Unwilling to argue, I nod in agreement.
It might be love.
It might not be love but something else.
My question is, what could that bet
Awhile in Ashton and I went and dropped the kids at their various schools.
“Mommy, you will again tonight, right?” Aria asks as she steps down from the car.
I told Diego to wait a little so I could drop Aria in the class,
“I might, honey. It all depends. But I want you to bond greatly with your best friends.”
1 sweep my fingers through her brown locks.
“Okay, mommy”
Ana’s playful spirit recovers when she sees her classmates. I finally drop her off and rush back to the car

Diego waves me off “Stop saying thanks when I’m doing my responsibilities.
Those words make my heart tap–dance in my chest.
“She’s not even your daughter_
I couldn’t finish the words as Diego pressed a finger over my lips.
“Aria’s like my daughter. I love her and I can do anything for her.”
He brings up our linked hands and kisses the back of mine.
“What do you say about a date, tomorrow night?” He asks and my eyes perk up instantly.
“A date?” I ask again.
“Yeah.”
“I’m in” I whisper but there’s this guilty feeling running through me.
I’ve been sitting in the waiting area of the company, waiting for Mr. Thompson. The report I analyzed previously is in my hands. My eyes are wide, looking to know when Mr. Thompson arrives.
I’m nervous about seeing him and what he’ll say about the reports.
Hours passed but he hadn’t come out.
I head to the secretary and ask.
“Are you really sure, Mr. Thompson is around?”
She gives a contempt look and rocks/her shoulders.
“Like I said, he’s in there with big men.” She spills.
I head back to the seat but I notice something this time, everyone has their eyes on me. Most of the looks were condescending.
I try to wave it off but it’s not working.
I tremble when I notice my phone ringing, bringing it out, I see Jane’s number on the screen.
Hi, girl I chirp but Jane’s voice comes in low.
“Is it true Rose?” She asks, voice cold.
My brows arch in confusion.
“About what?”
“Goddess, you don’t even know? You’re trending in the city’s tabloid. It’s about you.”
Jane’s words make me more confused.
“Jane, what is it about?” My voice shows how frantic Lam.
“Girl, I can’t say it with my mouth. You should check.” She goes silent for a while before she says. “You should be careful about who you deal with…”
Quickly, I end the call and search for the city’s website on my phone.
And there it is, my name in full.
The review in full and some addition of words that go beyond review….
But the moment I see the name of the writer, I gasp, and my head twists.
“Ashton?” I gasp, unable to stop myself. “How could he?”
I think to myself as my eyes water.
